HELIX’s Construction Group, is seeking a highly motivated Landscape Habitat Restoration Technician with a strong work ethic to join our Los Angeles County team in Pasadena. Our Construction Group division specializes in environmental construction, habitat restoration/maintenance throughout California.

HELIX provides, habitat restoration, biological consulting, landscape architecture, cultural resource management, regulatory permitting, environmental compliance monitoring, CEQA/NEPA acoustics and noise control, air quality and greenhouse gas, and GIS services to both the public and private sectors.
Responsibilities/Duties
- Assist with removal of unwanted plant material (weed removal)
- Assist with planting of trees and shrubs (seeds, cutting, container stock)
- Assist with digging and compaction of irrigation trenches
- Assistance with the installation, maintenance and repair of irrigation systems
- Assistance with installation and maintenance of fencing
- Assistance with grading and leveling
- Work safely
- Trash collection and pick up
- Mix and apply herbicides
- Ability to operate and maintain small gasoline powered equipment
- Perform manual work
- Proper planting techniques
- Safe and proper use of hand tools
- Proper method of operating motorized equipment
- Safe and effective use of herbicides (mixing, loading, application, cleaning, etc.)
- Irrigation repair and troubleshooting
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and in varying terrain
- Be able to stand for extended periods of time
- Be able to lift up to 50 lbs
Minimum Qualifications
- 1+ yrs. General Labor Experience or related experience
- 1+ yrs. Landscaping Experience or related experience
- Be safety minded
- Must have strong communication skills
- Be able to stand for extended periods of time
- Work in a variety outdoor weather patterns
- Be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Walk in a variety of uneven surfaces and slopes
- Knowledge of native plants and weed species a PLUS

Compensation
$17-21.75/hour, or dependent on experience. Excellent benefits package included.
