The City of Folsom’s award winning, multi-use bike trail network is recognized as one of the City’s crown jewels and a major attractant for residents and visitors alike. A key component of the City’s bike trail vision is connecting various trail segments and maintaining/improving user safety across the network. Accordingly, the Oak Parkway Trail Undercrossing project is aimed to improve network circulation and public safety by allowing trail users a Class I option (i.e., direct connection to Oak Parkway Trail from the Johnny Cash Trail) rather than existing Class II facilities that may be less safe and inconvenient for certain users. HELIX has been awarded a contract by the City of Folsom to provide environmental consulting services for the Oak Parkway Trail Undercrossing project, with efforts kicking off this week.
