HELIX Environmental Planning (HELIX) conducted a natural resources assessment of facilities statewide for the California Army National Guard (CA ARNG). Through this effort, HELIX combined desktop research and field surveys to document existing biological conditions and to determine the presence or absence of significant natural resources on 12 CA ARNG armories. The project focused on species and habitats protected by federal and state law, including but not limited to State and Federal Endangered Species Acts, State Fish and Game Code/CCR Title 14 (Natural Resources), and Department of Defense (DoD)/Army policy. Results from the assessment are helping the CA ARNG with mission readiness by ensuring armory operations are conducted in accordance with all applicable natural resource laws, regulations, and policies.
